AI as a Tool; Humans as the cog to be hammered into place
Imagine a new class system in society where your status and well-being is decided by the AI you can afford. And within an AI, various grading of subscribers that further drill down a continuation of class hierarchy and the disparity of haves Vs have-nots.
I am not saying AI or computers or technology or cars or shoes are wrong — they are great. Yet, how one uses something reveals a lot about the person / organisation rather than the “tool” / “device” itself.
It is not AI or AI apps for the masses that is scary. It is us. It is how easily we replace human one-on-one conversation or physical meetings with Zoom or direct messages or AI tools.
In near future—the threat from AI is that we will no longer be talking or dealing with each other. We will simply be sitting with our AI bot app or an actual physical AI bot to direct our life.
The challenge therefore is understanding the changing human behavioural patterns and changes in cognitive learning.
For corporations? Well, for example, Netflix needs to re-morph again very soon to survive. It used to send out DVDs. It saved itself. Let’s see it save itself again.
AI will help users to create their own customised movies and TV shows, to watch as per the description they type into the system.
Suppose you do wanna see Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones (he was the first choice of the filmmakers apparently), or you wish to remake Star Wars with William Shatner as Hans Solo— or maybe you describe a scenario and list specific actors whose likeness will be used to create a custom made movie for your re-invented Netflix ?
That’s the level of ‘loss’ and re-orientation. If everyone can publish or create or manufacture—is it a level playing field or is it anarchy in economics? Don’t worry, the AI puppeteers shall shepherd you away from doom and coax you into buying each other’s strange creations.
A modern day barter system among the masses where the platform earns a fee for enabling your foolishness as effectively as your genius. A truly Perfect Competition.

The future is a device separating you from fellow humans completely and satisfactorily. Humans are seeking solitude because just about everything offends them—they don’t wish to assist, volunteer, empathise—no more humanity in humans. Why deal with someone else’s problem when I can binge-watch a new spin-off ?
We need to be deprecating the influence of AI to elevate ourselves as its master.
